“The Birth Of V”

“A shoot to commemorate the announcement of name change for Trans artist and Community organizer, V go, photographed by Ernesto Casillas.”

I was given the opportunity to create a Cityscape set for this beautiful moment for V go. My friend Mark reached out to me the week before to see if I was interested, and explained the intent behind this shoot. I quickly agreed and immediately started sketching a concept for V base on the mood board that was provided. Seeing someone shine as bright as V during their moment allowed me to accept my trans identity and truly begin my journey with motivation. Everyone in this shoot created a safe space for queer artists to come together to formulate a magical moment for V; I am so honored that I was given the opportunity to be within that space, and still so blown away by the amount of hard work each and everyone manifests on a daily basis. This team is a perfect example of Queer excellence and queer voices.
